Forums - Nintendo - What have you paid for your Nintendo Switch

Haven't actually threw any money down yet.. But I've just pawned my Wii U on Amazon to help absorb some of the cost of the Switch, so.. progress!

I'm holding out hope that Amazon will have more preorders available as I'll probably jump on one as soon as they do. Otherwise I may be a super nerd and rush over to Target when they open at launch and hope for the best.. According to the Gonintendo crew Target's probably your best bet to get a Switch console launch day.

If possible I'm going to try and make all my Switch purchases on Amazon as I have a Prime membership w/ an Amazon card so I'll get cash back and save 20% on the games.

Initially I'm planning on starting with: Switch console w/ pro controller - $370
Zelda - roughly $50 (w/Prime savings)
Fast RMX - $35 or so?
Human Resource Machine - figure $10 or so?
Was going to get 1,2 Switch but I just can't justify $50 for 18 glorified mini games, no matter how cool the HD rumble is. Will probably just play it at a friend's house or buy it once it's heavily discounted.

So that puts me at under $500 which was my goal.. I should be set with that for awhile.

What if the wii u version of Zelda is better than Switch in playability terms. Those that have already sold their wii u now lose the chance to play the better version and the final great game on that system.

Oh how we wii u remainers will gloat at your foolish enthusiasm for the new system while we enjoy the game at its best with a wad of spare cash in our pockets.

I'll be buying the console and the special edition of Zelda (minus the sword) which puts me over 400 USDs. I really want that Zelda case, so I'll bite the bullet x_x;

Here in Aus a Switch costs $470 AUD, the equivalent of $358 USD.

If you want a game to play on it, say Zelda, and a Pro controller, that will set you back $660 AUD, or over $500 USD, in total.

So with the lack of a region lock, do you think will Australia have to lower some of it's gaming prices? Or will people import more?

$285, the Japanese RRP, then $10 for the red and blue strap clips, so $295 total. (235 gbp, $384 aus)

I would like to hope so, but I would never underestimate the greed of retailers like EB Games.

I've been buying a lot of my games from Europe since the Wii days.

Nintendo Switch - $317.99

Pro Controller - $74.19

Hori Case - $19.07 (I might cancel this and get WaterField's case instead, which I'm willing to pay a premium for.)

Hori Screen Protector - $21.19

Zelda - $50.87

TOTAL - $483.31

There are also some official Hori Joy Con jackets I want that are Japan only right now, which are around $10.
