Forums - Gaming Discussion - Ubisoft: For Honor isn't coming to Nintendo Switch

With For Honor arriving on PS4 (with PS4 Pro support), Xbox One and PC on Valentine’s Day, I asked about the impending launch of Nintendo Switch, and if VandenBerghe and his team would consider bringing the game to it, or indeed working on another title for the home/portable hybrid console. The answer was that it would be unlikely.

“It’s not something that we’re focused on. We’ve been in development on For Honor for a long time and the question of ‘Will this game work?’ is the big thing. I just want to get the game out on the core platform and see who plays it. Once we’re there and we’ve established if we’re successful, then I think we can look at where we’re gonna go from here. It’s weird, but it’s not even a question we’re addressing right now.”

Considering the visual fidelity of For Honor, it’s unsurprising to see it skip a Switch version, but with that platform’s dearth of games, I had to ask.

So much "for honor".

HA!

Game will probably be poorly optimized anyways. Not a big loss

Its actually amazingly well polished on pc. 70-90 fps on max details on 970 in 1080p

On PC- typically consoles don't receive the same treatment.

Only exception to the rule is Batman, where the PC version was pure hell.

I love Ubisoft's games, but some of their console ports/ games definitely had me feeling a bit concerned about their optimization skills.

I bet Switch players would rather Play Tekken 7 than For Honor

I'd rather play Zelda BOTW, Splatoon 2 and SMO than either of them.

"Dearth of games"? There are over 105 titles already... what?

In relation to Switch, the terms "games" and "third party software" are commonly used to replace the term "AAA third party games".

I see.

Wow so what I've noticed is that if a game doesn't come to Switch, fans react by saying "It's going to suck anyways".

"There is only one race, the pathetic begging race"

Great times ahead. Switch is not going to get AAA third party games, but will sell regardless. That's going to be infuriating to people.

It will be infuriating to those who buy it.  They'll need to buy a second console or pc.

After playing the closed beta for 12~ hours I can say it's very well polished. Even digital foundry say so. So dream on
