Forums - Nintendo - Skate coming to Wii and DS

April 2, 2008 - IGN has learned that Electronic Arts will be producing versions of Skate, its Tony Hawk-competing skateboarding title, for both the Nintendo DS and Wii systems. The title will be known as Skate It, implying that these versions will be a spin-off and not a port of last year's game. No other details on the two versions have been revealed.

Skate, produced by development studio Black Box, was released on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in late 2007 to critical acclaim. The game brought skateboarding videogame back to its basics with its unique skill-based, dual analog-stick control. Since the Wii and DS lack similar control functions as the PS3 and 360, we can expect controls that are tailored for the Nintendo system's strengths: accelerometer motion for the Wii and touch-screen for the DS.

Ps: I knew it this means surfer girl was wrong since I ask her if the skate franchise will come to  the wii and she told me that it wouldn't.

Skate It....is a horrible title. How do these guys get these jobs and can I have it when they're done with it.

I also don't like the name skate it they should just keep the name as skate. The good thing is that the wii is getting more 3rd party support, but I don't understand  why is it a spin off and not the main series. Why  they just didn't make skate 2 for the wii instead, of doing a spin off called skate it.

cool, cant wait for it, is it in 08 or 09

Maybe they should call it "Skater" instead of skate it if they want to make a different,,

Poor PS3 Sales Means Smaller Losses

"Actually, because the number of units sold was not as high as we hoped, the loss was better than our original expectation," Quotes from Sony’s CFO Nobuyuki Oneda.

I dont think it will look that good on the ds

^_^

"Skate it" sounds to much like "skip it."

Now everytime someone talks about it, I'm going to hear "skiiiip it! skiiiiip it!"
