April 2, 2008 - IGN has learned that Electronic Arts will be producing versions of Skate, its Tony Hawk-competing skateboarding title, for both the Nintendo DS and Wii systems. The title will be known as Skate It, implying that these versions will be a spin-off and not a port of last year's game. No other details on the two versions have been revealed.

Skate, produced by development studio Black Box, was released on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in late 2007 to critical acclaim. The game brought skateboarding videogame back to its basics with its unique skill-based, dual analog-stick control. Since the Wii and DS lack similar control functions as the PS3 and 360, we can expect controls that are tailored for the Nintendo system's strengths: accelerometer motion for the Wii and touch-screen for the DS.

Ps: I knew it this means surfer girl was wrong since I ask her if the skate franchise will come to  the wii and she told me that it wouldn't.
