WTF? This is too far. Even mass murderer Breivik got a PS2!

Now I really am mad.

Reactions to episodes of airport security retardation by date:

9/11/01 - 1/19/09: "Damn you, fascist Bush!"
1/20/09 - 1/19/17: *crickets chirping*
1/20/17 - present: "Damn you, fascist Trump!"

errr. That's only the case when you get info 100% from liberal media. FoxNews and the like have being calling Obama the anti-christ and blamed him for everything. You bet your ass they'd accuse him of this too, hence the "thanks, Obama" joke.

And since you talked about "reactions" and not the media, you can't seriously tell me that republicans wouldn't have blamed this on Obama had it happened between 1/20/09 - 1/19/17.

edit: Forget it. It's not worth it

The PS5 Exists.

Sad. But Trump seems like the guy who would have 5 year olds in handcuffs.

Well, that should be easy to test since these things happened under Obama, too. Let's see an example of Fox News blaming him for invasive patdowns or the college kid who was arrested for having Arabic flashcards. If they ever (outside of one of their house libertarians) groused that we have too much airport security I'd probably fall out of my chair.

The tone of the media coverage about these things is totally different depending on who is the president, and that drives public discourse and reaction. Obviously, if you expect the president to be a racist, fascist xenophobe then everything he does smacks of it. If you expect the president to be a bleeding heart commie who will give away the country then the same applies. Never mind that the policies have stayed largely the same.

Good luck Americans it's going to be some 4 years provided Trump survives that long.

8 years. Voters will keep America great.

To be as frank as possible, and I am not defending Trump on this, but this article should not be about Trump at all.

It was the TSA that decided to cuff the kid and hold him as long as they did. It was their terrible interpretation of the current rule of law that caused this incident. Trump was an idiot to try to defend these actions by the TSA and should have come out to saying that the issue was not handled well and they will work on handling it better in the future. To a small point I understand the idea of no one, no matter age race or creed should be treated the same under rule of law, but what was done fails common sense.

I am not in favor of the new, if only temporary, ban on immigration while they work on increasing security procedures.

If the kid is a US citizen, then what happened to him is just related to existing airport security rules, not the new immigration ones, so Trump has nothing to do with it, they applied rules either approved or left in force during Obama presidency.

So umm... pretty obvious question but where were the kids parents? Why weren't they with him?

You can hardly blame the parents for security thinking a five-year-old boy could be a threat. Perhaps you can blame the parents for not being with him, but this is definitely a screwup on security's part.
