Forums - Nintendo - Will Wii U games be massively ported to Switch?

I mean, the more you look at Splatoon 2, the more differences you see.  No super weapons return, all the weapons have new meshes, they seem to have adjusted, improved, and added some effects, there's a new singleplayer.  So I would just remove Splatoon from that list.  And Rayman Legends is a Ubisoft port.  So Nintendo only has a hand in 2 ports.  I have doubts on Smash and Mario maker.  Smash because I think they will focus on Smash 5 and Mario Maker because it won't be nearly as elegant as it was on Wii U.

I also have doubts about Smash 4...

Getting people to triple dip might be harder than we realize...

Plus it's the Nintendo series with the biggest competitive scene and members of the community are pretty militant about their favorite Smash installment...

A lot of Smash fans (if not the majority of hardcore fans) will be upset about a Smash 4 port because it won't play like Melee...

Have a nice day...

More importantly, Nintendo doesn't wan to give the impression there will be no new Smash, just like they don't want to give the impression there will be no new Kart.  That's why MK8 on Switch has no new tracks and got very little screen time at the event.  I think they may not port Smash at all since there's more rumors about it being the "last one" and they don't want to add fuel to the fire cause there are fans who if they think Smash is done won't buy a Switch.

And ...

They could do some remake/remaster of older games from the SNES to Gamecube.

Pretty sure people would be excited by seeing a Kirby 64 remake,Mario Sunshine remaster and even a remaster of the Metroid Prime trilogy. I'm pretty sure people would kill for that.

Unfortunately, Mario Sunshine is one of the few games that can't be ported over unless certain aspects of the game itself are revoked; it required the analog triggers which Switch has not.

There are a few games such as StarFox which didn't translate well on the dual-screen concept of the Wii U, which arguably would be better suited to something like the Switch.

So hopefully Nintendo does re-release/port/remaster them.

Maybe, since a lot of people missed out on some of the great titles on the Wii U. It could be enticing for those who never bought the console.

Sorry to hear that but what's the difference between analog triggers and digital one's ?

Analog triggers have different inputs depending on how much you press them, whereas digital ones only have one input (so it doesn't matter how much you press them, the result is going to be the same). You could do different things in Sunshine depending on how much, or how little, you pressed said triggers.

I'd like to see many notable 360, PS3, and Wii U games ported to Switch.
