What I take away from this is that Bandai Namco doesn't think Tekken is a very strong franchise anymore.

I mean, I'm not vilifying him for picking up this almost-standard practice, but it still bugs me a bit. If the content is worth it and they do give updates for up to a year, I am willing to pay extra. But do you really have to shove it in our faces 6 MONTHS in advance that you have this character done and it will be extra to play (it's out in arcades and it will be closer to release in Japan but still), it just feels to early to announce DLC content for the console/US version.

Thats common practive with every fighting gane nowdays, Tekken 7 still will have fighters than the competition, and more complex characters
