GT5 Prologue vs Mario Kart "not" Prologue. A fair fight?

Are you kidding me? This game will at least double if not triple Japans GT5P LTD sales on its first week. Also will sell craploads more in america than GT5P, maybe Europe is the only place where it will be close, but no such big difference for it to "catch up eventually in the long run". First week will be enough to pass GT5P LTD sales.

In Japan, Mario Cart Wii can sell more than GT5P, I think.
I think that Mario Cart Wii will sell 0.2million on first week.
And will become million seller before 3 monthes.

Well, it's not really fair to compare a prologue to a full game, when many have stated they're holding off until the full game come out, so obviously, it will outsell Prologue, but GT5... that's another story... or maybe not.

Yes, it will outsell GTP5.  Will it outsell GT5?  Yes I think it will.  Mario Kart has a much bigger appeal then ssbb and the Wii has a huge base.  All those moms will like how Mario Kart is non violent and is fun for both beginners and more advanced players.  Mario Kart races aren't that long, easy to pick up, so it's something that casual gamers would enjoy as well.  As far as first week sales, casual gamers may not pick it up in the first week but I could see this game outselling Mario and Sonic at the Olympic games and SSBB.  Though I don't think it will outsell wii fit since the older demographic prolly wont want Mario Kart.  Heck, Mario Kart will prolly eventually outsell guitar hero, after all, it's a hell of a lot cheaper.

Just a question.. when people say "its only GT5 *Prologue* so its not fair to compare with mario kart wii", are these the same people who continually push the case that its a full game in itself and not a demo? because as far as i can tell, if it is a game, then its sales have the right to be compared with any other game

I wonder the exact same thing, the game can become a full game when it is needed.

Mario kart will beat GT5:P hands down. But what will be the most interesting battle is between Mario Kart and GT5. That one is tough. But right now im going to say MK, just look at M&S at the Olympics. Europe is crazy to predict!!!!

I think mario kart will probably sell better, its a full game and is on a console which has sold 23.5m to the PS3's 11.6m, so based on thoose 2 facts mario kart will outsell GT5:P, i think a better question would be Gran Turismo 5 (full game) v Mario Kart, assuming console sales and installed bases remain as is (i.e week on week sales between now and GT5's release), it could be close.

I think MK Wii will completely dominate GT5P in every dimension. I think GT5 (not prologue) will have a better first week than MK Wii since MK Wii will be slowed down by GTA4 in America, but I think MK Wii will outsell GT5 LTD by a gazillion due to its super legs.
