They just apologised but it's a known fact there's a WW shortage.  Google it.

I don't doubt there's an OLED shortage but has Sony ever excused not revealing PSVR sales with this OLED shortage?

This thread is about people in Japan lining up for PSVR. What does your statement about Sony not talking about PSVR sales have to do with this thread other than PSVR?

Revealing sales?  Lol I'm talking about why they can't meet demand.  why you moving the goalposts?

In my European country the local gamestop won't have any until March and their online website is sold out.  Gamestop is the biggest retailer here.  Looks like it's many parts of EU too.

That's suprising, I've noticed that my local has even put a small discount on the VR systems because they aren't selling here.

If it was a little cheaper I would probably buy one but my backlog is waaay too intense to pick up anything else, plus what other games are coming to vr?

In stock does not mean not selling lol.  It means they are getting in replacements for the stock they're selling.  I don't go into my local shop ane say "oh look the milk isn't selling" just because the shelf is always full of milk everyday.  Your local is one of the lucky ones.  There are major shortages documented all over Europe,  Asia,  Middle East and many smaller regions.

I've done no such thing. I've been talking about Sony not giving sales numbers. This was the topic of my original post.

They're selling all they can produce and not able to meet demand. They obviously feel no need to announce figures.

Well some see these long lines as a good sign and I think it's safer to get a hard number out of Sony rather than relying on anecdotal evidence.

Obviously but PSVR needs adoption for it to be successful: developers aren't gonna hop on if there isn't much adoption so it might benefit PSVR customers and developers if Sony were to announce figures. Last I checked, Sony hasn't given PSVR numbers when they're more than happy to announce PS4 numbers.

My question is why?

Awesome news!!! Playstation VR is the future!!!

Playstation is going to make Japan great again

Wait, so the VR system is barely releasing there, or did it release already?

Funny I know where are you from just for the ridiculous pricing of it, lol.

Ta foda...

LOL

At least, it's not the 1200+USD from the PS4 official launch.

Well, in a store near my house it's selling for about 1200USD (R$4000)

Im a regular at my local Nedgames, im in there 2-3 times a week its just around the corner. I actually asked how the PS VR was selling and they told me it was popular the first day it released and then they have basically just been sitting on the shelves since then.  Anyhow I've just seen a guy online selling a 2nd hand PSVR unit with camera, move controls and a 500g ps4 console for only 400 euros! I might buy it and flick the ps4 off since I already own two of them.

Still don't see how this is relevent to the topic and your reasoning is very stretchy. The thread is about stock issues, not sales. If you want to talk about PSVR sales, then talk about it somewhere else where the conversation is more appropriate.

Because they can't shipped enough to meet the sales numbers they would have wanted to release.  The reason being the oled shortage.

Funny I asked in my local and they said they're flying off the shelves in gamestops all over the country.  Online retailers and stores in many countries WW are completely out of stock.  Japan being one of them.
