This thread is about people in Japan lining up for PSVR. What does your statement about Sony not talking about PSVR sales have to do with this thread other than PSVR?

Well some see these long lines as a good sign and I think it's safer to get a hard number out of Sony rather than relying on anecdotal evidence.

They're selling all they can produce and not able to meet demand. They obviously feel no need to announce figures. 

Obviously but PSVR needs adoption for it to be successful: developers aren't gonna hop on if there isn't much adoption so it might benefit PSVR customers and developers if Sony were to announce figures. Last I checked, Sony hasn't given PSVR numbers when they're more than happy to announce PS4 numbers.

My question is why?
