The thing is - older generations seems not to get what motivates and drives millenials in the workplace. And since the Gen Y's bad education is Gen X's fault, I believe it's theier responsability to figure out what changes need to be made in the workplace order to make it a better envoroment, instead of complaining that this generation is improductive.
I don't have the data, but most of the start ups and tech companies are being founded by Millenials working alone or in pairs. And that's not because they are improductive - it's because they are sick of working by the rules of the older generations and choose to be entrepreneurs themselves.
