There are 1 billion more smartphones now than when the 3DS came out. The 3DS also peaked in its first year, 2011.

I want to reward this high-quality thread with point$$$, so here's your guaranteed reply.

Cause the switch is a consle with a gimmick not a handheld with a gimmick.  

And the fact sds will be sold along side it.  You know theres that one little inconvienant fact.

Yes but the ds's will probably stopped being sold after year one. By that point the system will probably already have 6-8 million units sold

Wii will sell like Gamecube.
DS will sell like GBA.

The reality check is that Nintendo has already snapped Sony's portable neck and kicked them out of the hh arena so Switch should have an easier ride.
XB1/PS4 have already peaked, the mid-gen upgrades aren't popular which makes the PS5/XB2 less likely to succeed (see Sega). Sony/MS have 2-3 years to come up with something other than 'MOAR POWER'.

Hey hey, As powerfull as PS4 for sure ehh buddy.  

How is that a "dream"? It's obvious you're incredibly biased against the Switch, but you'd have to be insane to expect Nintendo to just drop the 3ds immediately after Pokemon Sun and Moon just to prove to nay sayers that they're all in. What's going to sell the 3ds? A fire emblem remake for niche hardcire classic FE fans? Even Pokemon released on the DS while the 3ds was out and the 3ds still saw insane Nintendo support. 

6-8 million isnt a ridiculous figure. And no one with average intelligence would expect a hybrid with a small price range to be as powerful as a ps4
