Pocky Lover Boy!

I lost a long post I was typing earlier, so...
Just make it with Radiant Dawn mechanics, with the writing of Path of Radiance. But, make sure that the Laguz or their equivalents aren't outclassed completely by the Beorc.

I think Awakening has a lot in common with P3/4 when it comes to impact. Probably moreso P4. Fates is P3. With that said, what I hope is that FE Switch is Fire Emblem's Persona 5, whatever that means. Maybe, instead of playing royalty, you play as some robin hood character who is leading a rebellion of the oppressed people. Some gorilla warefare-level shit. I don't know what I'm talking about. Just add dungeon crawling like in Echoes. |
You described the first part of Radiant Dawn (which was handled rather poorly in terms of narrative and difficulty(imo)), and Path of Radiance to a certain extent.
Micaiah is a proto-lord, and the first part is largely about her and the liberation of Daein by the Dawn Brigade.
Ike is a mercenary, not a lord. Anyone who thinks otherwise will have to look at Ike's role in both FE9 and 10.

I don't really have much experience with Fire Emblem beyond Awakening and Fates Conquest, but I suppose I would prefer better avatar customization and more focus on a cohesive, impactful story. And also NEVER do a branching story across multiple games ever again.
Basically continue what Awakening and Fates did but with great HD graphics, voice acting. Just really go full force and make the presentation the best it can possibly be because I already have total faith in Intelligent Systems that the gameplay will be great.
Also, more customizable options for the Avatar would be great too.

In terms of gameplay on the maps I'm fine with it staying like Fates.
Where I want to see a huge improvement is in the story. Awakening is one of my favorite videogame stories to date, and I'd love to see that expanded upon. Expand the friendship/romance options. Make permadeath matter more by including references to fallen comrades later in the game. The jump to HD from the 3DS should make these changes relatively simple to integrate. For permadeath it's a matter of recording various alternate bits of dialogue like Bioware has been doing since at least KOTOR.

This. Forget the gameplay changes made in Awakening and make a real SRPG again. Just put an "Automatic victory" difficulty level in it for people to be happy.

Lyn, while being technically royalty, didn't know that she was until someone straight up slaughtered the majority of her tribe. She mostly went out to fight to protect the people of her tribe and to get to know her only remaining blood relative.
I'd like them to make a multiple-path games like they did with Fates. That's probably not a popular opinion, but I felt like I've played two different and really good games, so that was fine for me. Simplify some things, like character stats development. Less "randomness" in that department. Less classes could also help. Get rid od that children side quests, focused on a straightforward storyline with less distractions. Less waifus. And I think that should do the trick for me. Keep the core gameplay i intact. That's also important.

Conquest is too easy to break, to be honest. I can wipe the floor on Chapter 18 with everyone but Xander and I being underleveled. I just have to find a way to deal with those pesky reinforcements without running down the clock.
Oh, and by underleveled (<Lv22), I mean that I dragged characters like: Lv15 Mozu, Lv15 Laslow, Lv16 Nyx, Lv16 Keaton, Lv17 Beruka, Lv18 Kaze...power-leveling is made way too easy by the new Support system.
And, to be fair, I'd also like a few changes from the Radiant Dawn system. A fog-of-war mechanic that is actually based on sight range and not "I can see through walls because of my torch," weapons degrading instead of outright breaking, and segmented maps like the Rainbow Sage map in Conquest (think multi-storey fortress).
There is a lot more I'd wish for, but this is Fire Emblem, not my personal pet strategy game.

I don't count her because she really does wind up a lord during the course of the game. Micaiah, on the other hand, has to wait until the end of hers.
