Forums - Gaming - Capcom: we have no plans at the moment regarding Resident Evil on Switch

But let's remember that AAA third party support isn't all third party support. Switch will get games from Capcom, Altus, Sega, Bandai, Aksys, etc. It'll get Western indies. Plus the combined first party support of 3DS and WiiU.

Too many folks look past these titles and see only the empty space where Resident Evil or Titanfall 2 should be. They assume that AAA games are what makes a console worthwhile. The success of Wii, 3DS, and DS, and the failure of WiiU and Vita prove otherwise.

Sure sure plenty people buy consoles for Rayman not GTA, for Lego games not Battlefield FF15 CODs Battlefronts MAssEffects and so on.

Don't be so quick to project your own tastes on everyone else. We're on a sales site you know. The data is readily available. Yes people want games like Call of Duty and Resident Evil. They've also proven willing to buy systems that don't support them.

To be fair Capcom isn't bringing Resident Evil 7 to any platform

What do you mean?

Resident Evil 7 looks really boring. I'll take a port of RE4 though. I'm almost sure this will happen.

Earily Reviewers are already saying that Re7 gets the Re1 vibe of an real horror game. Sure if you just want to play call of duty with zomvies Re4 or 5 will be "better" for you, but as a horror game nothing comes close to Re7. And its playable in VR.

Im guessing he never played Res 1-3...

Im excited for a new fresh take on Res rather then the same old thing.

As for the game not being in the Switch...thats a shame, more games the better.

Not really surprising, but this time around I don't think it has to do with power, but just that some games won't come to the Switch regardless

I hope the actual Resident Evil 7 comes to the Switch. Ten different story modes with so many QTEs it's actually a rhythm game now. Writing quality has drastically improved to the point where you might confuse it for a Nicolas Cage movie.

Also, features two talking cats named Albert Whisker and Hiss Redfield. That part has nothing to do with me mocking RE6...I just wanted to say it.

OT: Wasn't expecting it, but still unforunate. I am curious what sort of discussions Nintendo and Capcom have had though. Based on Monster Hunter's success this generation, they seem to have a better relationship currently, and I'm curious how Nintendo would plan to leverage that.

I imagine it would take awhile to port it over if they planned to, so I wouldn't expect it to be there on the Switch. Perhaps it could get other games in the mean time. This would be a great fit for MH, I feel.

I think this is very, very disappointing and sad. I was hoping Nintendo would secure important 3rd party games, at least on launch. Apart from Skyrim, NBA and FIFA, they haven't secured anything worthwhile.

I hope they can improve and actually secure more games for their console, since from what we know for now, these games are too little for me to purchase the console.

Are those really worthwhile? A port of a damn near 6 year old game and two sports games that most likely will still be inferior to PS4 Xone versions. Right now Wii U launch looking much better in terms of 3rd party IMHO

I'll take NBA and FIFA I guess, just because playing some sports sims will be a nice change of pace from Nintendo games on those long flights ... but yeah the third party support for this sysem right now is really bad.

I would certainly enjoy playing a game like that on the go, but maybe that's just me. Developers would certainly need to add some extra functionality for the console itself though.

I've been thinking of picking up Titanfall 2 on the PS4, I think it looks fun.

What extra functionality do you mean?

Hmm I meant things like maybe using the HD rumble feature or something like that. Something to set it apart from the other versions, but without toeing that dangerous line of using gimmicky waggle =p
