Forums - Gaming - Capcom: we have no plans at the moment regarding Resident Evil on Switch

Express Online has spoken to producer Masachika Kawata and director Koshi Nakanishi to find out if the Nintendo Switch games lineup is about to be given a boost.

Unforunately, however, it doesn't look good for Nintendo Switch fans with a taste for survival horror.

"I think it's a very unique piece of hardware," producer Masachika Kawata explained.

"I'm looking forward to the possibilities of the system itself, but we have no plans at the moment regarding Resident Evil on Switch."

First Titan Fall.. now Resident Evil.
Final fantasy 15, and 7 remake wont be there either, mark my words, its too demanding.

Theres going to be alot of 3rd party that skip it due to differnt architectures & power of device.

Same here!

Pocky Lover Boy!

Makes sense. Hope they revive some of their older IPs.

The Switch isn't powerful enough for a cheap port for demanding games.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

These days, I would rather have Eternal Darkness 2.

“Simple minds have always confused great honesty with great rudeness.” - Sherlock Holmes, Elementary (2013).

"Did you guys expected some actual rational fact-based reasoning? ...you should already know I'm all about BS and fraudulence." - FunFan, VGchartz (2016)

Does that only refer to Resident Evil 7? Because I thought it'd be a given that REmake and RE4 would eventually show up in it.

Resident Evil VII isn't a demanding game, however.

"The strong do what they can and the weak suffer what they must" - Thoukydides

This isn't shocking. Swiitch is barely more powerful than Wii U which was released 5 years ago. I said it before but Nintendo needs to get focused on their next handheld. Swiitch won't be the success they hope for. Either that or they need to declare Swiitch to really be their next handheld, and make a real console that can get the games. If they don't, then they put all their eggs into one basket and the basket isn't looking good.

So, out of all the franchises Capcom can bring to the Switch:

-Resident Evil VII won't come due to specs. Maybe a spinoff like Revelations might come, it sold well on the 3DS.
-Street Fighter V can't come due to exclusivity, so they'll bring an HD port of SFII.
-Monster Hunter is still strong on the 3DS, it will probably come to the Switch at a later date. Possible multiplat with PS4.
-Ace Attorney the same as Monster Hunter. Still strong on the 3DS, may come to the Switch in the future.
-Marvel VS Capcom was coming or not? I don't remember this one being mentioned...
-Megaman, Devil May Cry, Darkstalkers, Final Fight... Still waiting for a chance of a revival. Specially Megaman. A Smash appearance and a re-release compilation and the blue bomber is still not getting any love from Capcom. Although the MN9 hype and fiasco may show Capcom there's a real interest in Megaman.

You know it deserves the GOTY.
