Indeed. It was our only choice. Nintendo should be putting this on the Wii U version. Switch will be sold out for months. Adding this mode to Wii U version would keep the people who can't get a Switch happy.

The only Mario Kart worse than that is 8.

I loved Double Dash battles modes so I'm really glad to see them return. I just hope the balloon battle elimination mode makes a return as well. That would make this the perfect Mario Kart.

Oh and of course it needs more battle maps.

You can't be serious? The games aren't good. MK64 was awesome, DD wasn't that good, MKWii was awesome, MK8 wasn't even good. 8 was a game you played for two weeks - even my kids don't care about the game. 

I enjoyed it back on the N64.

Mario Kart 64 battle mode is where it's at! 4 player block fort was the best mutliplayer you could find when it came out. 

Well yeah, not too many people want to play N64 these days. Multiplayer communities tend to move on. No one plays Double Dash or DS either, doesn't mean they weren't good while it lasted. 

The games are different and take adjusting to, but they're hardly awful. SMK has aged really well I think, but it's mechanics are so different than the games of today that it takes an adjustment period before it's fun again. I'll admit MK8's racing mode hasn't aged well, but battle is still fun. I do have the game on VC and have played it fairly recently and once I readjust to it again, it's tons of fun. 

Okay, was worried that the characters were tied to Amiibo, but are just the skins..

Neat to see 5 battle modes, should be pretty fun

..but come to think about it, I do have the Splatoon Amiibos :p
