I'd never buy a console for one game, but luckily there's already a couple I'm interested in.

I'll probably get mine around christmas, so Super Mario Odyssey. Even though I feel like it's going to be the worst Mario out of 64/Sunshine/Galaxy.

Other then that... Animal Crossing, love that series.

At this point none, the paid online, no trophy/achievements, lackluster voicechat, price of the console and controllers and the fact I have no one in my family or friends circle who are interested even tough they are nintendo fans is just a dealbreaker currently.

Its going to take sales numbers and a revision of their launch price and support for normal online communities and playing together more then one game, I am sure the console will get plenty of good games since Nintendo never had a problem making games, they have problems making normal hardware.

The Legend of Zelda is all I need to buy one...and I already have.

It would be even worse if this was nintendo switch exclusive. We all know how long are nintendo consoles life time.

Six years until the successor arrives? Switch is going to be successful.

I currently don't think the Switch will be especially successful (<50 Million LTD is my guess) though that could certainly change.

I am however interested to know if you think Nintendo will launch any hardware over those Six years at all. Not a direct successor as you state but possibly a dedicated home console/handheld? Though I think either would be a mistake alongside Switch.

I just find it hard to imagine that the Switch functioning as Nintendo's only Home Entertainment System could still be their latest offering in 2023, considering it's specs.

Something exclusive, something big, something Square Enix.

...Like a full remake of any of these FF6, Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana.

I highly doubt Nintendo would ever get extremely big like FF16 exclusive.

Unless Square wants to basically ignore the 53M+ userbase on PS4 alone that has the largest fanbase of FF then I say they are really stupid. Repeating ROTR fiasco is probably gonna be a stuff of jokes.

lol yea thats why I highly doubt Nintendo would ever get an exclusive mainline FF ever again.  Those days are done.  But would at least make more sense that they can still get the Square games that were exclusive to them back then.

Zelda is already making me wanna buy it. But I am really missing Animal Crossing! Please be a 2018 release!

Pocky Lover Boy!

It's not a matter of a game, its a matter of a game library. It should never be a matter of a single game because if the console offers nothing else of interest you're essentially saying you're willing to pay over $300 just for that game. After you've beaten that game you're still going to have that console, and it's just going to collect dust unless there are other titles you want to play.

Sure, a single game or game series can help you decide between which game console you're going to buy (for me that was always Metal Gear Solid) but it should never be the sole reason. For me, a console needs to have 5-6 games I know are coming to that platform that I want to play before I'm willing to buy it. That's why I still don't have a Wii U.

Zelda. And I already got it.
