External HDD it is when I get one. It'll be supported by Christmas, surely Nintendo?

The question is how. Because imagine what happens when you have the Switch docked with a USB HDD plugged in and a game running from the HDD, then you take it out.
I guess Nintendo could make it so that games can be downloaded and saved to an HDD, but can't be opened and played from them. The user would have to transfer the game to the system memory first, a la the Wii with SD cards.
Well, that's BS. I think there is a reason they mention eventual 2TB support. They know the games are going to get bigger this coming gen, even for them. Especially 3rd party games. 32GB, even with a 64GB card, is going to get eaten up fast with downloads, updates, and saves.

I don't think very many AAA third party games are making their way to the Switch.
The real question is if you are able to play physical games on on an account that's not the region of the game, like PS does it. I'm gonna guess no because Nintendo.

Again, for people who say 32gb isn't enough, you also risk price of the console. It costs around $25 for 32gigs of flash memory. If you want anything over 64 gigs...forget it. Most flagship phones only have 32 gigs of internal storage or a more expensive 64gb model. 32 gigs is fine. Get a microsd if you want to go digital. Game cards should suffice in the mean time.
Selecting your region makes sense, but I do hope that you can change it in between without negative results :/
Read only cards would be a bit annoying, but not too bad as long as there are ways to recover save files if anything happens to the system

There goes my hope of keeping everything together. Save data internally, patches and dlc on a micro sdxc card, and a game cartridge that's just an empty day 1 shell. So if my micro sdxc card is full I have to remember which cards holds the patches and dlc for what games, progress.

eh, it wouldn't matter anyway. You could just create a second account for the region of the games (not like you'd be missing out on the achievements or anything |
The famous Nintendo double dick move. Would suck though when you're on the move and have no internet and can't login to the other account.
