Forums - Gaming - Will Fifa Switch pull another PSVita trick?

The Switch is replacing the 3DS eventually, I can't see it turning out any other way.

And It's the SE version of Skyrim, which is on the new engine, which meant Bethesda did manage to bother to port the newer version to ARM. I don't expect everyone and their dog to make games for the Switch. I don't really care what EA does, they have some valuable daughtercompanies but EA is still amongst the worst companies in the industry and I would buy a game from them if they payed me.

Probably ported SE version to ARM for future Android and iOS release?

If Nintendo does an exclusive marketing deal with EA for FIFA on the Switch, that game will do phenomenally.

An old PS360 game?

To me Steep is the only important third party game because it's the only that has been built for next gen console only. But just one game, released a year after the other versions? What chance does it have?

Do you really think third parties are trying? Besides Square Enix, all the rest are just some pathetic attempts to make some cash.

To think that the Switch was pushed back 6 months? I mean what the hell? It doesn't take a year to make a port for a game, how come there is so little? Nintendo at least started to shopping around the console during E3 2016.

My only guess is that developpers are just not interested, because they think the Switch won't be a success, or because they know that the Switch is not replacing the 3DS.

Activision is just porting skylanders, Warner bros is just porting Lego City. I mean WTF, Nintendo really lost everybody with the WiiU.

Nope, the SE version of Skyrim is still built on the same engine. But updated of course. I don't know if it is the first time they used it on ARM, but anyway, don't expect something incredible, SE on Xbox One and PS4 is not impressive either, so on Switch...

Steep though has some pretty nice next gen graphics. But like any other Switch games you can say goodbye to a lot of next gen effects

yes, I don't expect this game to be the current Fifa games but a downgrade

The SE uses the Creation Engine 2, like Fallout 4. It's an update from the first CE, but it's not just the old game with updates, as CE2 is by it's very nature a 64 bit engine and the first CE is 32 bit.

Android and iOS? Have u ever played any "serious" game for Android or iOS? Touch controls are a total joke. The only people they'll  really reach are people with high-end Android set-top boxes who like to use it as a gaming device, which is a very small community. Mobile gaming might be lucrative, but the best games on these platforms are touch optimized games like Angry Birds or Hearthstone, and even then mobile gaming is a joke.

Yea I have a Google account which I don't even log into that has a few games that I bought.  One is like Advance Wars and another is like Panzer General.  Turn based strategy games seem like a decent fit but most genres don't translate well to touch or motion only.  I don't even bother with mobile games anymore and stick to 3DS.  I need my buttons.

Most people don't buy the controllers that are available to mobile gaming and the ones that do are probably more serious gamers.  The casual crowd is just filled with women in their 50s playing candy crush for free without paying.

For the sake of all Switch fans... just give up on western third parties. There's no way it's gonna happen.
