That's actualy a good assumption when you consider Nintendo's sour experience with Swapnote.
Pokémon Go could have been a small thing, but otherwise cameras in video-game systems are completely pointless. I never use those, ever. The one in my 3DS was used like once because my neice liked the floating face shooting thing back in 2011 when she was like, 11 years old. The one on my WiiU has never been used, not even for Mii creation, because I imported the one from my 3DS (which in turn I recreated from the one on my Wii). Cameras are a waste of space.
By the time Pokemon Go came out though, it would have probably been too late to make such a drastic change to the console. The success of pokemon go wasn't expected.
I never used the 3DS's cameras and if you want the nintendo switch to be 349$ instead then sure add camera to it.(bad idea)
Cause the camera on the 3ds and vita sucked and it would just take more battery away and increase the already high price...
