Really? I thought Xenoblade 2 looked good.

What downside are you referring to?
Even while being played I thought it looked like Splatoon 1 with the maps a little bit edited.

That sequels will look almost exactly like their predecessors.

It could happen. But, look, XOne and PS4 haven't got any problems with online suscription. I'll be very glad that Nintendo gamers say NO to paid online and made Nintendo change their minds. It won't happen though. |
the difference is that there is a huge amount of online games on PS4 and XB1. GTA, Battlefield, Fifa, NBA, Titanfall, Doom, Overwatch, Battlefront, Destiny, Rocket Leage, Forza, and alot more. spaltoon seems to be the only real reason to get a subscribtion on the switch, and i would bet that for most 1 game isnt really worth it.

Hmm, I guess you're right.
This game still runs at 720p if I understand things correctly much like the first. As someone who has played the first, rounds can get very VERY hectic with ink flying EVERYWHERE which results in a hit at Splatoon's otherwise solid 60 fps. 1080p might have meant this happening more often so for me at least, 720p is fine if framerate stays at 60 fps more frequently this way.
Whatever the case, I'm more interested in the new weapons and new maps and new hair styles and clothes and modes.
My two cents.

Yep, and those games (Splatoon, MK, Arms now...) will come before the online service is released. So, I have my reservations about how well it would work. So, I'm not sure if it'll work.

Good point but it also makes avoiding the paid online on the Switch easier. Tit-for-tat.

thats my point. people might pass up on splatoon 2 because they arent willing to get an online sub just for it and maybe another game or so. and that might hurt its sales. we will have to see. but as the user above pointed out Nintendo's paid service wont release until later after Splatoon 2 releases. so it might not hurt its sales after all, but i can see it heavily hurting its community in the long run. its going to sting when all of a sudden you have to pay to play a game online, when you were playing it online for free. i think that will hurt splatoons community big time.

yeah thats a good point, i forgot about that. i doubt the paid online will have a huge effect on its sales at launch if its playable online for free. but it might hurt the community a huge deal once the online sub is introduced. and by the time the sub is introduced a lot of players might just not be willing to pay to play a game they been playing for months already.
