Im pretty sure the Joycons are wireless no matter what. They just slide into the Switch, but doesnt connect to anything.

I could see a version without the dock and the grips (assuming the grips are coming with the package) for $179.99 but that's assuming the dock really costs as much as they are selling them separately for and that Nintendo aren't just price gauging. They really will have to be around that $150 price mark in a year's time if they want the 3DS crowd to adopt this.

No f***ing way..... Nintendo and hardware design man.

This is as bad as there not being a damn ethernet port in the dock.

I suggested it already.  Remove the dock from the price, and cut it to $199. 



Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

The dock is just totally overpriced. Removing it might make Switch 10$ cheaper.

Yeah I planned to get a switch and sell the dock, joycon grip and other stuff anyway to use it as a normal handheld for 199,-.
But at the moment i dont even care, wont get the switch with paid online

See, I don't get why the dock costs so damn much...

Lets look at whats inside the dock:



No fan, no magical secret sauce or anything of that sort... It has AC, HDMI and 3 USB. That shouldn't cost anywhere near $90 usd...

Anyone thinking the dock is some $90 peice of hardware is just stupid. Risking a ban with that comment, but I don't care, it needs to be said.

Yes, they should. You could even buy a USBc multiport adapter so you can output to HDMI and charge at the same time without at $90 dock. Only Nintendo can make a piece of plastic with 3 ports cost $90. Only Nintendo.
