How would you control your games without the joycons? Without them the Switch is just a touch screen.
I could see a version without the dock and the grips (assuming the grips are coming with the package) for $179.99 but that's assuming the dock really costs as much as they are selling them separately for and that Nintendo aren't just price gauging. They really will have to be around that $150 price mark in a year's time if they want the 3DS crowd to adopt this.
