Forums - Nintendo - Switch's Monthly Free Games are only playable for the month. You don't keep them.

Don't worry, most likely those games are games most Nintendo fans own anyway.

I've heard the price is $5 a month, if so it's the biggest ripoff ever.

“Simple minds have always confused great honesty with great rudeness.” - Sherlock Holmes, Elementary (2013).

"Did you guys expected some actual rational fact-based reasoning? ...you should already know I'm all about BS and fraudulence." - FunFan, VGchartz (2016)

I've been on plus for over 5 years and have racked up over 100 games. I sometimes go back and find gems that i never even knew i downloaded. I admit i usually add most to my library and never touch 90% of them, its nice to know if i want to i can go back and play them at any point. The downside of Nintendos approach is after 5 years of sub you have only one game where as if they took ms/sonys approach you would have over 100 games.

I really hate this online crap. Microsoft then Sony and now Nintendo getting in on it. Urgh!

Make it cheaper than the others at least, Nintendo. You better or else I ain't buying.

Bumping it up to a 60% chance this will fail.

I feel like Nintendo is always taking very, very measured steps when it comes to jumping on bandwagons so to speak (I mean like online play, mobile games, etc.) but love to jump head-first into their own innovative paths (Wii, Wii U, Switch).

But when they take those measured steps, they always come up short in order to create what seems like artificial value to me. The prices of their software remind me of Apple, or even how Disney prices their DVD/BluRays. The demand is definitely there, but I don't buy half as much Nintendo software as I do other companies because they're too expensive in comparison.

So based on history alone, I'm assuming this online service is going to be at a premium price. Basically, as much as they can get away with. Kind of like how they initially priced the 3DS until the Sony matched the price with the Vita. $40-49 US wouldn't surprise me.

That is so dumb. Nintendo sees Sony and Microsoft doing it right, and they go COMPLETELY left field. Just let me keep it while I'm subscribed! How can they be so idiotic when it comes to modern day standards?

Let's hope the online service is as good as Xbox and PlayStation .

The whole idea of giving Nes & Snes games is kinda funny when i can already play them on a web browser.

How about N64, Gamecube and DS games?

Why does Nintendo hate us? All we did was give them money and adulation. And we're rewarded with subpar hardware, game droughts, overpriced VC games and now a pay to play online service that lags far behind competition. Its like we're being punished.

Its great that region lock (another nintendo classic) is gone but this is really bad.
