Forums - Nintendo - Switch's Monthly Free Games are only playable for the month. You don't keep them.

As expected. Hopefully the price is still good.

Terrible value. I really think they should've went with an optional online service instead, with regular peer to peer online staying free.

I do wonder though if they'll pull a Sony and change this down the road.

I hope they change that.
There still time.
Our bad reception about it maybe can change their mind.

You don't keep the 'free' games on ps+/xblive either. They're all rentals.

360 games you have got from games with gold you can play even if xblive expires. The others are always on your account but can only play them when you are subscribing to the service. This Nintendo online service only allows you to play the games for one month even if you continue the service. A bit like the free weekends that you often get on steam etc but this time its a whole month and a bonus of their online service.

They are only going to be old games probablymost people have played to death anyway and likely better emulated elsewhere on more powerful systems which can do 4k rendering and even 3D of the same games.

I think it's wise to know the actual price. If it's in line with those 60€ a year of MS/Sony the value is sooooo bad. If it's like 5€ a year (delusional, but I was just stating an hypothesis) it would be a nice deal. I'll wait to know more details about the suscriptions. If it's 60 in the end, I guess it's time to provide feedback to Nintendo and making them scratch that decision.

Wow. That is horrific. Even for something low like $30 a year.

I thought people were looking forward to Kimishima's lead as President of Nintendo...
Seems to be making Iwata like decisions...

This is really great.

First because it will obviously make the service cheaper. Second because these are online games so you're bound to find many people to play in that one month. I just hope they give great games and the online is good.

You "Keep" them until you stop paying for them. You don't keep the Nintendo game no matter what (unless you actually buy it).

Also to the @OP title is wrong. It is Free Game. One game.  You get one NES or one SNES game.

You do realise that is renting, right?
