I think this is probably the truth. Nintendo will still make great games every once in a while, but there will be droughts. Very long droughts.

This time it will happen, believe me. *Trump gesture* |
MAKE NINTENDO GREAT AGAIN!
We're gonna build a console, and its going to be the most luxurious and most amazing console ever made, and Microsoft will pay for it.
That seems like wishful thinking, honestly. They might, they may not, who knows? But it seems to me like this seems like a way of copping with a lack luster launch and/or small showing at the presentation.
Give it up. This event was supposed to be them screaming back from the grave. Instead they pulled out some wiimotes and shook some ice cubes. Its all gimmicks once again and Nintendo is chasing that blue ocean. Face facts man. Nintendo won't be doing some E3 that makes core gamers drool. I'm expecting something along the lines of Wii Music and several minigame compilations.

Plus all the usual 3DS greatness, but on switch.
And, I really want a wii party U like game.
Oh, E3 is important once again!
Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

I think they will as well. The only two 1st party games that got significant time during the presentation that aren't going to be released before or a little after E3 are Mario Odyssey and Xenoblade 2 (still can't believe that they're aiming for a 2017 release date for that), which leaves a lot of time to fill with other games. Plus, most of the games that were featured were EPD developed games. There's still Retro who have been MIA since 2014, Intelligent Systems, HAL labs, Game Freak, 1-Up Studio, Nd Cube, Next Level Games, maybe some other 2nd party developers like Platinum and maybe some unannounced projects from EPD since they've combined their software teams and haven't released anything of significance by themselves since I think Splatoon and Mario Maker in 2015. Nintendo EPD essentially has two years worth of games that they've been holding off on for the Switch and what they've shown on the Switch presentation probably only accounts for 1 lost year when you consider the size of their combined software teams now.
