Forums - Nintendo - Where's the D-Pad Nintendo?

No, the Pro Controller doesn't count.

Not because it isn't very portable but because of it's awful positioning.

Does Nintendo really expect people to play fighting games and classics with an analog stick?

I hope they make a joy con with a proper d-pad. Unfortunately that's probably going to be another $50 outta my wallet for that.

I figure they had to change the d-pad on the joy cons so that they could be used as separate controllers when doing co-op.

It'd be weird when you have the left joy con have a analog on the left and d-pad on the right when playing it horizontally.

Maybe it will be cheaper if it doesn't include ice cubes.

The four buttons on the left joycon form a D-pad.

I'd rather it did, I don't want to have to carry around 3 different Joycons.

EDIT: If you mean for when you have half a joycon for multiplayer I could see it being a potential problem but not one that doesnt have work arounds, I wouldnt be in that situation since the main local multiplayer I would be doing with friends would also have their own Switch. So this isnt something that will effect me personally.

Great, now what do we use for ABXY?

Edit: ah i see, use abxy on left for d-pad and abxy on right for buttons. Still bad positioning imo.
