My bad. When I said $5 I thought we were just throwing out baseless assumptions seeing as what's written in the OP. We don't know the price, we don't know the features, we don't know the games being offered or how it will work. I'd say wait and see before we judge whether it's good or bad.

Online should be $29 per year max for what Nintendo will offer, but because of their (paltry) 1 game per month add on, guessing will be at least $59. Suddenly appreciating my xbl games w/ gold that much more smh

Depends on the price. Also, ifnthe SNES games are good, I'm fine with a month of use. Better than trash indies I'd get zero use from.

Basically on the same boat as this guy, if it is 30USD a year, who am I to complain, namely when I pay for 60USD for a service I barely use year round. 

If it's $60 a year, it's a scam.
Same price as the competition (even more expensive, in fact), but 1 NES for a month against up to 6 more recent games almost permanently, and with the competition you have interesting discounts on the Store. But the Nintendo Store is 1 or 2 gen late, and with 32GB stockage...

Oh, yeah, if you pay, you're allowed to use your phone to invite your friends and talk to them. Great... That thing should be 30$ a year, maximum.
