Forums - Gaming Discussion - New SMT not a Switch exclusive ?

Funny how Sony fans demand games to be multi-platform, but when you suggest one of the PS exclusives should become multi-platform they're all like "hell no!!!".

Don't expect the Switch to have exclusives from third parties, if at least it gets a lot of japanese PS4 titles, which seems to be what will happen, it would be nice for the console, and it could sell well in Japan.

I'm kinda torn about Nintendo's success with the switch.
On one side it would be good for the industry and Nintendo's future if the Switch was a success, it would be even better if third parties sold a lot of games on the Switch.
On the other side I want Nintendo to make a proper console next time, not some underpowered, low battery, expensive console with useless joycons.

One console has a 50M+ userbase and sells something like 17-18M new consoles a year, and is also the console selling the most games with some of the most faithful (and growing) fanbases for niche third party games.

The other console has a userbase of 0 people, her "older sister" was the biggest flop in the last 15 years (14M in 4 years!), the vast majority of third party games flop on the Nintendo home consoles, and the announcements and reactions of today push to be really cautious about this new console's future.

Yeah, I don't get why a "port" in one way seems like a normal business practice, but seems useless in the other way. No idea.

It can only go one way. Hilarious.

Why? Pretty dumb thing to say.

It's best for all gamers.

I really miss the older consoles, nowadays are are way too few exclusives.

So how did Street Fighter V sell on PS4? The 3DS was the biggest flop in the last 15 years? You do realize this game will most likely be the next main-installment of SMT, right? Do you know what console the previous entry released on? The 3DS. Obviously Atlus is satisfied with its sales or else they wouldn't have revealed a sequel for the Switch. And how would a game like Persona 5 be worse off if it became multi-platform? Such bias, lol.

So much this... Lol. If Persona has always stayed on PS why shouldn't SMT. And like you said SMT 4 was on Nintendo and the sequel as well. If they weren't satisfied, using his logic it would have been on PS. For the record, I'm hoenstly against these 3rd party excluives. Make your own games. In a perfect world they would be on both.

And exactly. It would only sell more if P5 was multi plat.

Atlus is also releasing a new SMT game for the 3DS, no problem about that.

But how can you even try to say "older sister of the Switch = 3DS"? And you dare to talk about bias! :D Yeah, you're right, let's forget about the Wii U, we can even say that the previous Nintendo home console was the Wii, so Nintendo has a 100M userbase and is in fact winning against the 50M of PS4. You're right, sorry ^^. And you even push to pick ONE game, not even exclusive, to say that exclusive games don't sell on PS4. Great.

Now, try to think again about everything we wrote, but without the 3DS in the equation, because the new 3DS game is not the subject here, we're talking about the HD home console game.

New console with no userbase and doubtful reception/sales = more risks, so more incentive to publish games to other consoles as well, especially when the other consoles are well established. Not hard to understand this really simple business point of view, is it?
