Forgive my ignorance but what the hell is trolling

Trolling is basically when your being ingnorant and disregarding facts just to say...

"My Console is better then your console

"Your consoles graphics suck!"

... things like that.

I just find this thread funny. PS3 is selling great this week and people are trying to spin it into a negative thing.

Hilarious.

The PS3 is selling very well this year, when will it just be excepted and not have everyone jump in with Wii remarks each time it does good? I personally just think it is because so many people expected some sort of epic fail on Sony's part and have been let down.

Everyone knows the Wii is going to most likely outsell it WW, but it is pretty close.

Doesn't bother me none, but still pretty amusing.

That's funny to me as well. Confuses but doesn't surprise me. My friends do the same thing. Even when there is something slightly positive about the PS3, they all try to spin it into a negative.

I'm congradulating the PS3 in this thread... I'm assuming you mean some peoples comments in this thread are are trying to make it negative?

If GT5P had launched in NA last week, ps3 would definitely have sold more than Wii.

azrm, the PS2 dropped to $200 within months of the GC's release and had a huge lead before the GC was even released. Totally different situation, even if you are correct that price isn't the only factor. That aside, the PS3 would be doing a lot better at $300, and we probably wouldn't be having this same conversation every week.

Well the PS2 went to $199 in May 2002, when the GC went to $149. In Japan though, it took nearly 3 years for the PS2 to reach GC's launch price, at which point (2003) the GC was much cheaper. This is a totally different situation. The PS3 (Sony's console) is far behind the Wii (Nintendo's console). And price isn't a factor, it's perceived value by the consumer that matters.

@OP,

I'm not sure who exactly you're referring to but the general wisdom is not that a game won't increase hardware sales for a couple of weeks but that it won't increase it for the long term. Anyone capable of basic reasoning and logic can work out that a popular game being launched will result in increased hardware sales, but very very few games actually cause a prolonged increase in hardware sales beyond 2-3 weeks.

I'm sure you could find a few crazy fanboys to point to, but for the most part people get it.

Probaly, but the game isn't nearly as popular over here.

It is also good to see PSP keeping up with the pack. This "beating the wii" has overshadowed the fact that PS3 is back ahead of 360 in NA.

2 more weeks dude. I'm not saying it will beat the Wii but we could possibly see another close one like this again.

Good week for PS3 and shortages for Wii, but the good is Wii still win. =)
