Totally different situation, even if you are correct that price isn't the only factor. That aside, the PS3 would be doing a lot better at $300, and we probably wouldn't be having this same conversation every week.

Well the PS2 went to $199 in May 2002, when the GC went to $149. In Japan though, it took nearly 3 years for the PS2 to reach GC's launch price, at which point (2003) the GC was much cheaper. This is a totally different situation. The PS3 (Sony's console) is far behind the Wii (Nintendo's console). And price isn't a factor, it's perceived value by the consumer that matters.
