I love motion controls, so I'm excited. But, if you don't, it will function as a normal control. Arms and 12Switch look really cool.

Exactly. I love motion controls too, even though I'm pretty bad at them.

It is basically a Wii so far. I don't get it. Why they do this to us?

Wasn't the WIi their best selling console? I think that answers the question.

Yes, but it was shortsided. The reason Nintendo is in the mess it's in is because they completely abandoned core gamers by taking all their core IP and using waggle/motion controls. It worked for awhile becasue casuals were eating it up but when they left, Nintendo was left searching for someone to by their stuff... no one did.

I think what most people thought was that they'd learned their lesson. Cater to core gamers first... casuals last.

Which is why the motion controls are an optional feature that aren't the primary control method.

I like it, as long it's not mandatory

Doesn't matter anyway. I had no idea they were attempting to charge for online gameplay. There's no point in discussing controls when they'll attempting a paywall whilist trying to win gamers back. It's a moot point.

Pretty sure motion control was a given even before the event.

ps4 controllers have gyroscopes.

Muda Muda Muda Muda Muda Muda!!!!

That's all I kept saying... "Wii 2" ... "Wii 2"...Nintendo...why?

Aren't gamers already used to paying for online services and constantly saying Nintendo needs to get with the times?
