Also, "Global game boom of the late 1800's"? Yeah, gaming trends travelled around the world at the speed of sail. I'm not familiar with late 19th century gaming trends, but know that Nintendo was making playing cards back then. Onion, we need to jump in my time machine and travel back to 1880 japan to see what he is talking about. Unless you plan on leaving me there. I can trust you with time travel, right? Your not going to change anything and alter history?

Hope you don't have this outlook on all VR. It is a truly amazing future for all media. After experiencing VR all movies and games feel small and out of proportion.

As for Switch VR, it really depends on how good the hardware is. If it is 720p and weaker than PS4, then I won't be interested. If it is 1080p and closer to PS4 then they can definitely make somegreat stuff.

Back to VR as a whole. Once we reach 4K 120fps in VR, I really can't see going back to standard games. It is an amazing experience stepping into VR games even at this point. Once everything is clear near and far, and smooth clean edges are the norm, VR will be the onpy way to experience games.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.

I'm not convinced judging by what I've seen up to this point but I'll keep an open mind.

The VR side of it won't be much of a surprise what with the leak of the patent details etc and Amazon listing the Switch as compatible with their VR shopping experience. We know they have been developing VR for Switch its whether they have decided to release it commercially and whether that's at launch or later in the year.

The surprise may be the Switch screen. It could be 1080p or higher but the console only has 720p and 540p resolution output when portable.

Again though even with a 720p screen it can still be a good immersive VR experience. Let's not forget the very low resolution of many Nintendo portable products and wii and wii u. Nintendo have a track record of lower resolution products compared to the competition. If I was guessing the true resolution of the Switch screen at this point if not 720p I would guess something like a 900p screen because I believe they are quite cheap. Something like 1600x900 which would give a 800x900 resolution per eye and is a sweet spot in pricing.

If they really decide to use the switch itself as a display, the headset must look hilarious with that big bad fucker in the front. But they will surely have an advantage in pricing. That would be a 99 $ VR headset!

We'll see, I personally lost all interest in VR though.

Gear VR can handle it just fine, in fact it's the most successful VR headset around and a Galaxy S6 or S7 isn't exactly a powerhouse. If Nintendo actually makes some good games for VR, they already have a big ass advantage. Because I'm seeing nothing but tech demos and Minecraft on all the other VR systems. I'll take good games over fancy grfxx any day.

Remember its a 6" display and the controllers come off. It won't be any more cumbersome than the plastic google cardboard compatible designs and no reason to be $99 if all the important stuff is in the Switch already. It's basically just a plastic housing and a lense mechanism. You may even use your own headphones. The price point could be between $39-79 I think depending on whether they give you a free game. I'm thinking the free VR game will be quite small so probably just a download code included. It's basically just going to be an advanced and convenient version of google cardboard.

If the VR system has a 2 tier approach both compatible with battery mode and docked mode performance with an attached usb power cable. I think we are looking at wii level or just above for portable VR and about wii u/360/ps3 docked allowing for the fact it will need minimum locked 60fps or beyond 70/72/75hz depending on the refresh rate of the screen.

So I'm thinking of a possible VR pack in title as a combined version of both Mario Galaxy 1 and 2. That would be the comfortable level for Switch VR even on battery. Another possibility is Zelda windwaker because it has very beautiful graphics and would be again easy to run on the hardware even in portable mode. I'd be happy with a high res VR version of mario 64 to be honest though. Nintendo have the content to deliver on VR.
