Forums - Microsoft - Scalebound was set for that, sadly, another from the E3 2014 line-up

And to think some people said Microsoft won e3 2014. I think that puts it to bed.

The thing about E3 2014 is that it was the first E3 since XBO launch. There was a lot of making up to do for the previous E3.

I guess M$ threw everything they had at it, even things that were early in development or hadn't even begun development. Cancellations happen. Delays happen.

We just had an unusual amount from that particular year due to M$'s need to impress. But I'm sure we also got a lot of fulfilled promises too. Right?

To think back then people thoguht it was thé best conférence because it " shows more concrète stuff that will release soon "

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

While on the internet this looks bad and it has soured many people, reality is this game probably was not going to be successful enough to make a return on a 5 year investment.

The question is what does MS do to address the content for the platform and Scorpio at E3:

Likely:
Halo 6 teaser (2018)
FM7 showcased, launching fall 2017
Sea of Thieves, Crackdown and State of Decay 2 for Q3/Q4 2017 obviously...
Dates for Ashen, Below, Tacoma and Cuphead

But what new announcements could they drop to excite the base (as beyond looks crickets)?

Ryse: 2
A new Splinter Cell (exclusive or timed?)
Alan Wake 2
Mistwalker game (least likely)
Perfect Dark Reboot (most likely next Rare project?)
Phantom Dust (more like a budget Remaster)
New IP teaser by The Coalition? (unlikely)

It'll be interesting for sure to see if they have anything in the tank. Right now losing Scalebound is a big  blow to their efforts to build IP.

MS are probably exiting the console business. Don't assume Scorpio will be a traditional console.

I don't know how does this lead you to that conclusion, but I disagree, I think Scorpio will be another traditional console, nothing hints otherwise.
I know MS had been showing PC more support, but I don't think Scorpio will be a radical move from consoles, all we know is that MS keep saying it'll have "beefy" specs but that's doesn't mean it won't be a console, Pro is still a PS4 and is already quite strong.
I'm pretty sure MS will drop the ONE quite fast, tho.

I think Scorpio will be very "Steam Machine-y."

If anything it will be pointed to when people claim a "winner" of E3 how game announcements are nice, but see how they play out over following 3-4 years.

For example, I love The Last Guardian, but Shenmue III and Final Fantasy VII:R could end up not coming out until 2018/2019 and end up with serious issues (I hope not) making that Sony conference not seem quite a smind blowing as it felt at the time. We shall see.

Won't be surprised if Scorpio is some sort of steam machine.

Xbox One is already basically a steam machine. At least for first party titles it is.
