Forums - Microsoft - Confirmed: Scalebound Cancelled

Hope some other publishers picks it up. The game was obviously too ambitious. They should've stuck with the single player mode.

Well... might be good news for some of us, because if another publisher does pick it up we can see it in both X1 and PS4. Fingers crossed.

It's a MS IP.

Its not bad news for MS. If they cancelled it than its bad news for Platinum. If MS wanted it they would have continued funding it.

What planet are you on?

*if* MS cancelled it how is it bad for MS? They bloody cancelled it for a reason. If Platinum cancelled it than different story. This is clearly a buisness decision made by the company. If it didnt have potential or be a quality product for its price than they made the right move.

If it was the next big thing than they would have kept it.

Sucks that so much work may all be for naught. :(

Thats good, don't forget to mention that they had to close down the studio that made the game. That always touches a nerve. Just like they did with ico.

At least we got The Last Guardian and it was a critical success

You'll never get to play Fable Legends and Scalebound

Rather not pay 60 dollars for a game that has issues like last guardian and only got a free pass because it was "artsy" just like the abomination that was everyone gone to rapture or journey. I rather see money being spent on game developers that are competent and make actual games with gameplay.

To both posts - Let's not sling mud at other games just to make a point.

CGI, we've been through this multiple times. I like mud just as much as I like slinging it. Just kidding however. I was somewhat intrested in this game, but there must've been issues with scalebound to make microsoft cancel it. If it platinum games didn't hit milestones, I would ask for a partial refund if I were microsoft.

Probably lost Sony money. However alot of people really liked the game (its got a good metacritic score, fans seem to love it).

Its one of the reasons you get a PS4, it has games like that. Stuff you wouldnt ever see on the xbox.

Kind of like how there isn't a good exclusive racer on PS4 yet.

While I do think Driveclub is a good game that just had a really bad start, there's no doubt it was a commercial failure and we likely won't ever see another one.

GT Sport is on the way and will likely be really good.

I honestly think the PS4 needs a new FPS. With Guerilla working on Horizon I think Sony needs to find another team to make a AAA exclusive shooter far more than they need another racing game.

Overall I think the point JRPGfan was making was that the Xbox One has a far narrower range of exclusives than the PS4 does and it hurts MS and a big part of that is that MS isn't willing to take the same financial hits and risks like Sony did with TLG (an almost certain financial loss for Sony but a game that was well recieved and his a big hit with fans of the older ICO games).

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

After Mercenary on Vita, I would like to see Guerrilla Cambridge make another Killzone

Pretty much what I've been saying, Microsoft being Microsoft.

"There is only one race, the pathetic begging race"

Makes me sad that so much work got waste it, doesn't matter if it was a good or bad game they still put effort and time into this, I hope PG recovers from this.

I'd actually really like to see another Mercenary game specifically. Though I have a suspicion that their next game will be another VR game.

I'm secretly hoping that Sucker Punch is working on a new AAA FPS...
