Sounds more like a prediction than a rumor.

Fast charging is nothing new. However it most likely won't charge full in 30 minutes. But charging 80% in 30 minutes should be easy.

This is really down to how much you spend on the charger. If you want to charge fast you need a charger that gives out more amps rather than the usual low amount. I think if they went down this route it would be supplied with a standard low cost slow charger but there is an optional high performance model for more money. This way Nintendo makes additional profit. It won't take much to incorporate fast charging electronics in the console itself they just need to be fed with more power. The big issue is how does the console indicate to the charger to release more power or will the charger have a non-standard usb connector so it can't damage other devices that someone might use it with. I'm guessing the powerful charger connects to a non-standard connector on the dock but the usb power connection on the switch console is standard. This would make it a safe design.

I wonder if the USB can connect and charge from a PC....I somehow feel that would help hacking

Does the shield have fast charging? If not, neither will the switch.

That would be Awesome! That would make up for its low battery hours.

I would guess that would be on the dock; you could combine wired with NFC. Oon the go it would take much longer.
