All sorts of details have been revealed about the Super Retro Boy, Retro-Bit’s latest system, at CES 2017. This handheld allows people to play Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance systems.

Each Super Retro Boy has a TFT high resolution LCD screen that is scratch and shatter resistant. Its 2,500mAh battery should provide players with 10 hours of play on a single charge. Its design is inspired by the original Game Boy and Game Boy Color, with the Game Boy Advance left and right triggers placed as additional action buttons under the A and B buttons.

The Super Retro Boy will be released in North America in August 2017. It will be $79.99.

Isnt it just better to buy a Gameboy Advance SP?

Tried to picture F-Zero or even Mario Kart Super Circuit with those shoulder button placement... no, that is terrible.

If you can find any that is.

Ebay probably has hundreds of them for way less than 80 bucks.

Who cares?

That can be said about any retro release: Sega genesis re-release - Why just not get  Ultimate collections?, NES Mini - Virtual Console? Point is to be classic/nostalgic, not so much the games

I disagree, when it comes to the NES mini the cool thing about it is being able to use it with a HDTV without input lag and also still having the original NES shaped controller.

This device offers the ability to play games, but has altered the controls to the point where some games would be effectively unplayable with this layout, it's not just about looking like a Game Boy it must in some way be functional, otherwise why even bother putting a battery in it, just make a gameboy shaped box for hipsters to hold in cafes and look RETRO.

No, collections doesnt have every game from a console on it and neither does the VC...

Is it official?

And neither does mimi but people still want it. Collections has all the defining/popular games of the Genesis, meaning, if Sega was to due a genesis mini they would just reuse those games.
