Saying Dr vita does it too doesn't make it right.  My point regarding this is you nearly always see me getting discussed as a problem.  But you never see these same people be partial and bring up the others.  I wonder why Rol doesn't dedicate as much time to trying to get jranation banned as he does me?  

 

As I said at least I was original with my Playstation praise.  Jranation however is just a reaction to me because he was bothered by what I said.  

 

I do admit last year me and others went overboard but not anymore.  Like we used to celebrate Playstation doing well and beating Nintendo in Japan when it did.  Celebrating it winning is fine but we'd be harsh in our mocking of Nintendo.  Posts like that obviously made jranation a lessor poster and he's still stuck in that bubble but as I said it's not like that anymore. 

 

And on the point of Rol's hypocrisy.  When tbone was basically the Nintendo version of me,  Rol went to the effort of protecting him rather then try and get him banned.  again the reason is the same as jranation,  they are Nintendo fans and not Sony fans. It's why it's hard to take him seriously on his little crusades because of the double standards. 

You thinking Rol is on my side is funny. You don't kno us that well. Other than his bodyguard thread he calls me out multiple times. I was even known for being a drug addict thanks to him.

 

Oh and since im on the topic, 1 thing i learnt from here was when people and i mean many people call you out and you believe your right and they are wrong maybe you should listen as to why they are ganging up on you. My first year here i was known for hosting tournaments, making waaaaaay too many threads and then mocking the vita in the mc/comg threads.

 

Thing was i didnt notice i was bashin it (vita) as bad as i was doin something similar to what you do now. I made comparisons to 3ds/etc. Kres and others got annoyed and told me so i had to think outside my thinkbox and i fixed the problem. Ever since the only time i get in trouble is when i overly defend nintendo which i kno some people get mad for but whatever.

 

My point is this. If you have alot of people tellin you you have a problem.... Then maybe you just might then? Its not certain but its very likely. I dont want to get involved and ive been holdin back with you for the sake of others. You dont bother me directly no more so we are on good terms. Only thing i cant stand is your switch vs 3ds/wiiu comparison but we'll leave that alone :)

This is the thing though.  Switch vs 3DS/Wii U is probably the only area where people can argue I'm being overly negative regarding Nintendo.  And I can't agree. It's a valid comparison that I've every right to make in sales threads.  It's not like I celebrate the fact it's losing the battle.  If I was now would legitimately be trolling. 

 

If facts bother people in sales threads they should steer clear of them.

If that was me id be banned. Not sure why he gets let off. His posting habits are basically a reaction to me. He's not genuine like I am. Since I've been banned the amount he posts on the usual thread dramatically decreased. Just shows you his intentions.

Whether the threads are packed or empty I'll be there cheering on Playstation if it's doing well. Because it's genuine and not fake. I really do get a thrill out of a platform that entertains me succeeding.

Interesting comparison. You choose the sport most infamous for fans going over the top with their support of a team which can result in them breaking things, attacking people and causing all kinds of trouble. So if you're cheering for Sony in that way...

Hooliganism hasn't been a bit problem in football in ages. And supporting a football team does not mean you're a hooligan.

But you do celebrate the PS4 being ahead of the PS3. Do you seriously think that the PS4 selling 11 million would be just as impressive as the Switch selling 27 million?

Rol's plan was to get you sympathy from the mods.  He did everything he could to keep you around.  Now I didn't but I did that one time decide to not report you when you were on a final warning before a perma ban. I think you were just back from a 30 day ban.  You messaged me asking not to report you and I didn't.  I suggested you edited your comment before someone else did.  

 

My point is despite being as bad as I was,  you had people looking out for you,  whereas I didn't.  Since then I got you banned loads by reporting you but they were protest reports to the mods to prove a point how I was being unfairly moderated at the time. Anyway history is history.

Yeah I celebrate ps4 succeeding.  The fact it's the only console up gen over gen on its predecessor. I don't celebrate the fact Switch is down on it's predecessors (Wii U/3DS). 

 

And to answer your question a traditional home console selling over 10m this gen would be excellent.  For the Switch to sell over 20m? It's to be expected and the least you'd expect at that. Not only is it a handheld but it's also a home console.  So it has 2 markets to aim for.

You're comparing a console with a handheld. PS4 being ahead of the PS3 when you look at the context of console gaming in Japan is pretty amazing. Also, 27M - that's an odd number to come up with.

I see. You've set the bar ridiculously low for the PS4 just so you can pretend like it has some sort of victory over Nintendo.

The best-selling Sony console is 23 million, while the best-selling Nintendo console is 33 million. But the PS4 can be 12 million behind that (less than half of the PS2's sales) and still be more impressive unless the Switch gets within 6 million of the best-selling console of all time.

The PS4 is doing much better than the PS3 everywhere else. Why would it be "excellent" to merely pass 10 million? That wouldn't even come close to putting a stop to the decline in home consoles. The Wii and PS3 sold 23 million combined. The Wii U is only at 3 million, so really there ought to be a lot of leftover marketshare. Why should we be content with the PS4 selling the same as the PS3, when that was Sony's worst performance?

If you're going to jump into the conversation, you should at least inform yourself on the context. We're talking about lifetime sales in Japan.

Wii U: 3.3 million lifetime
3DS: 24+ million by year's end
Combined: 27+ million

By the way, Lawlight, you've said numerous times that the handheld market is in decline, which is why we shouldn't expect high sales for the Switch. But now suddenly it's a given that the Switch will do super well because it's a handheld. You just can't stick to a single narrative, can you?
