Do you not understand the difference between someone being irritating and someone trolling/attacking others? I guess not because you believe that being annoying is trolling.

I made it perfectly clear that in that post you linked and in my other posts that I draw the line on people attacking eachother directly or indirectly. There's no double standard. You're just being rol by intentionally missing a point you don't want to address. I deal with plenty of people on this forum that bash trump whenever they can who actually attack my character alot by using the methods I mentioned in that post. i still think the same with that about attacking others directly or indirectly. If they just want to bash trump, that's fine. If I can handle that then you should be able to handle a little frog wanting to debate with ya guys over video game sales. If someone is being annoying by being overly excited or being annoying (without breaking any rules), just suck it up and deal with it like a mature adult.

Of course, I'm not familiar with the entirety of lawlight's posting history. I'm not a mod with access to his moderations or a stalker. He's been here a long time so I'll apply this rule of thumb for his posting history in a broad sense since you asked it in that way. If he didn't attack someone directly/indirectly, I don't care. If you want to link specific instances or posts to see what I think on it instead of bringing up a user's posting history without referencing anything speciific, then have at it.

Do you know the difference between trolling and flaming? At this point I have to ask.

Yes. Either address my points or leave me alone. You're wasting my time at this point with shit like this.

You should be grateful that there's still someone who gave you the benefit of the doubt for so long.

The mods couldn't even be bothered to respond to you when you said that they are doing it wrong. It's not worth their time and they are right for ignoring you. I would have done the same, but thread-wise this has been a really disappointing weekend.

Hmm, I guess we need to come up with something else to discuss, then!!

1200 posts of arguing about nothing.

That's kind of rude to say about Kerotan.

That does no address his points though.

What he is saying is that trolling should be allowed, but from his own perspective he isn't saying that. There has been more than this one occasion where it was clear to me that his definition of words and perception of events greatly differ from how the vast majority of people use and see them.

"The vast majority of people" - yeah I don't think so unless the vast majority of people take reading something that they don't like as trolling. I've always been a proponent of allowing people to speak their mind. If you can't counterargue then fine. But I suppose in this day and age, if you don't like something then you have to shut it down even though no harm is coming out of it.

What you call "people speaking their mind" is a toxic influence on the forums. Harm does come out of it, because it turns discussions into petty console wars that stifle rational thought. I, like most people here, want to have conversations with people who understand the market and make reasonable analyses. Kerotan's cheerleading and your vitriol are the antithesis of that.

Those are trolling posts, plain and simple and should be modded (thank you btw for showing that I was right about how some people are above the rules). Not everyone can get away with those comments like those. I am talking about posts that offer opinion about sales of a system, for example - ones that do not attack or troll individuals.

It only stifles rational thought if you let facts bother you. If me comparing sales of system x and system y showing that system y is underperforming bothers you or is "vitriolic" per you opinion then that should not be my problem.

Well fuck, can't argue with that lol :P

I can and I have. Surely it's not hard for you to see why that is trolling, right?

I didn't say that. i said that YOUR version of trolling is not actual trolling in these cases but overly sensitive people who get bothered by disagreements. Didn't you say something about rules being changed just for your crusade after a frog? You don't want to address my points and that's why you're resorting this shit.
