Well, I don't know why you're thanking me, but I'm always happy to accidentally help with something.

Um...

You're welcome, and no problem.

Is this type of behavior allowed? I have no issues with any political news that is criticizing any of the other sides but this is OP itself trying to inject skewed half truths that contradict what the article even states.

I believe this is very toxic approach for starting a political discussion.

You complaining about politics is fairly hilarious.  Specially when it comes to "skewed half truths".

Aside from that - you will have to actually put some work into actually explaining this point.

What are the half truths. How are they contradicting the article. How is this different than 99% of the political threads? Plus it would help to explain what you think is being "very toxic" and how it is that way.

Although I would object to the "inhuman cock sucker" the rest is on par with the politics section.

If you are also inept at reading comprehension as the OP is then there's nothing I can do. It says it all on the way he started the thread. To be clear I don't give a damn about which political affiliation an article criticizes. I'm just tired of seeing things getting twisted just to "start a discussion". Tell me what is wrong about complaining about such behavior?

If we were to do this an article that is gaming related and stir a commotion by saying skewed half truths to piss of a fanbase, I think that's grounds for a warning or ban.

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

So lets recap. You can't explain why anything, nor answer any of the questions. You expect mods to go digging through the thread instead of posting your answer here. You resort to petty insults like "inept at reading comprehension"

And yet you think "Is this another Dems/Left dindu nuffin wrong?" is in anyway shape or form helpful to starting to a discussion when you were just whining about something being a "very toxic"  start to one?

Yikes.

I find it hard you are being serious. If you are then have a good day. I'll let the moderation team take a look into it instead.

I don't like spoon feeding people when the answer is right in front of them. I'll give you some sort of hint though. OP posted links(rolling stone and ctv news). Check OP's thread title and what the post insinuates. That's all you are getting from me.

Another tip, if you're really that lazy or you're allergic to the links provided by OP, you can check what other people have said right from the early parts of the thread. They've already called OP out for it.

@CGI-Quality For future reference, is continuously strawmanning someone's argument over and over an actionable offense? Once could be accidental. Twice can be understandable. Three to four times is blatant dishonesty.

Don't want to speak for CGI, but my take on this would be that while such a thing is obviously obnoxious, there's not exactly a rule against poor debate form. You're always free to logically dismantle such arguments. That said, if this constant strawmanning leads to a noticeable escalation of hostility within the thread, it steers the discussion too far off topic, or drags on to consume the entire conversation of the thread, the mod team likely wouldn't look too kindly upon this individual.

We do keep a naughty list

I would like to point out that this is exactly what happened recently.

If you feel it's something we've overlooked, or perhaps mishandled, send me - or another mod, if you prefer - a PM outlining the issue (thread, user, specific posts). I'll bring it up with the team, and we'll check it out.
