I was wondering if the mod team ever considered doing referendums on certain topics? I guess there are polls here but I was wondering if there were ever plans on doing questions in a more formal capacity.

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

So, you prefer a deliberative democracy over a plebiscitary democracy then I assume.

As voter you have every 4 years to elect people who you have confidence in to manage everything for you.

Referenda take time and add nothing at all.

So, 1 day to vote people and then 4 years of not having any say at all

Thats why it is important to actually vote

These referenda had at most 30% turn out, opposed to 60-80% for elections. Only people who care about that single issue bother with it scewing the result

But that doesn't deal with what I said really, which is that for 4 years essentially there is no say, unless you can do re-call elections in the Netherlands?

Why would you want a small part of the population have a say? Is that minority more important then the majority who doesnt care?

There's truth to this. Back then it was free game to bully troublemakers and nobody got offended because a troublemaker got bullied.

If you think mass bullying is okay then I am glad you are not mod.
Poking once or twice is okay but when the thread is all about one guy because of what he said on the previous thread then you know the thread is a mess.

So one user can be allowed to say remarks and ruin previous threads but when time catches up and factual evidence goes against them. Individuals breaking no rules are not allowed to make their own individual decision to tell someone they were wrong. As rol stated this behaviour has been going on for months.

I gotta say I don't really like the undercover mods. If people are mods they shouldn't be hiding their mod tag.

Who's undercover?
