I dont think your assessment makes much sense, though. From what I understand your argument is that making this official would make for a lot of controversial bans, either because of an obuse of power or bias.

 

This doesnt make sense though, because literally everything is the same. Mods are still biased even with rules because they are human, they can interperet things differently because they are human. Even with rules, just about every ban that occures seems to be contested after the fact, hence being "controversial". Ive done it and a lot of other users have too. 

 

If someone was up for being permabanned, I think the entire mod team would probably have a discussion. Which again... is how I believe things are carried out now. I could be wrong and if one mod was just allowed to hit a switch that could be a problem but that doesnt seem to be the case. I even seem to remember reading in the past that a few of my minor offenses had at least more than one mod checking out the questionable content 

 

I could be wrong about all of this mind you. And if I am I accept that.

So without completely dismissing this because ot wont be fair, why was i banned so easily especially in this thread?

When i get banned i most certainly understand why (aside from a rule that was implemented at the time when i didnt know said rule exist) and think its fair game but this last one felt very unjustified to me. Like because "oh shut up" and ban for tbone51 who was just responding to a quote that that user started.

Thanks. And dont tell me to let it go without a proper discussion or response plsss

But yes, when i was banned i really really was like wtf. I couldnt even say anything about it (obviously), hell its even weirder that i was banned in this very thread. I think it was totally uncalled for especially since i only had 1 reply back to him about it. Carl is usually good but it seems like he put his frustration out on me instead.

 

Whats done is done but i dont think i should just let it go so easily........ Really out of what? 20+ bans i had this one is just wrong for many reasons.

I always disliked those types of users who "abused" the current system, by basically provoking other users, and then the other users get banned/warned while the people in question walk despite violating the "spirit" of the rules. Nevertheless, I think stuff like that is too vague to define, so I don't think banning these users is the right way to go about it.

If only people can have civil discussion about gaemz.

The issue was Carl asked you to drop what was going on and you continued to perpetuate it. Next time, you can either PM the Moderator or just move on from there. 

Usually when we get that type of "response" we should drop it like you said. My problem with this one in particular is the mod himself started this topic, and i directly replied to him about said issue (and it was more of a "certain user").

 

This is the mod thread so i didnt think a PM was really that necessary. Its a bit of ironic that we are suppose to talk about problems in this thread yet thats what i did and i got banned for it.

 

Anyways ill drop it (if no1 else replies to it other than you) but hopefully this doesnt happen again with myself or any1 else because it is BS imo

Nothing wrong with talking about issues in the Moderator thread, but once a Moderator has asked you to move on, it's probably best to do so. That is why a PM may have spared the ban.

This is where I'm coming from and why i said its ironic. But from now on ill PM instead when i see a post that says to stop discussing further

I see no reason why you shouldn't. But like I noted, only going on what I've seen in the discussion here, it looks as if Carl didn't appreciate where things were headed and wanted to nip it before it got out of hand. I hear where you guys are coming from, but I also get why he decided to kill that before it opened its own can of worms.

I just want to point out im not entire mad at Carl. Its more the fact i was trying to help out a situation and all of a sudden everything crumbled on me.

Lets just use this as an example for the future and nor make silly mistakes again. Instead attack the source and hopefully resolve it for the better

 

Edit: carl was just upset with the way MC threads have become. So sometimes stuff like that can cloud someones judgement. I dont think i had a probably with carl before, so it was just this once where had an issue. Anyways.... Yeahhh dunno what to say now :O
