Vgchartz data has persona 4: golden as the best selling game in the series with 1.12m sales, it is the only persona game to break 1m units.

If there's so much games not on your system why not get that platform as well, supporting the devs so they can make new games. Valkyria Chronicles selling well on PS3 at full price would have funded a real VC2, not the $5 steam sales.
Well if you truly cared about Yakuza and invested more time to know about its sales than waiting for the weekly Japanese sales report, you'd know that Yakuza is on the rise in Asia and the latest entry has sold more than 500k in 1 week. |
Lol, no. If you try being a know-it-all and accusing people of ignoring facts, maybe you should first try to check your infos...
Yakuza 6 sold 220 000 copies in one week in japan. Yakuza 0 sold 500k over 3 months in asia +japan.
The sales for the series are declining. Sega needs to change things if they want to keep the series alive, maybe stop releasing one game a year, and release them globally would be a good start.
I didn't expect them to go to other systems anyway, I mean i been sporting this avatar for like a year lol.
Besides I don't think it'll pay off if they invested in releasing these games to other platforms. They know for sure where their playerbase is and that's what they choose to focus on.

Lol yes http://gematsu.com/2016/12/yakuza-6-total-shipments-top-500000
500k in 1 week.
As I said, your info is not up to date. You don't know what you're talking about. Asia is becoming a huge growth market for Japanese publishers.
Their own market will continue to matter less to Japanese publishers. Whatever decline there is in Japan is offset with sales from Asia. But you can keep bemoaning Japanese sales every week in their dedicated threads.

Ps4 Japan sales ahead of ps3 launch aligned so you can't use hardware as the excuse.
Asian sales are showing growth as well as the west. Overall the series is still doing it's old numbers. Just not all in Japan.

Persona 4 & golden, combinded numbers are around 2m (on VGCz).
The series has grown in popularity over time (3 started it, and with 4th installment it took off), and its been along time comeing.
Persona 5 will do better than 4.
Apparently it set a record for sales in the series, so its off to a good start.
