Nis up 1 and still out of stock ... LOL. Yep, I don't trust Amazon just yet.

Regarding the charts, I've had a theory before when other consoles went out of stock and still held high positions.
The chart represents a week of sales that's updated hourly. The sales over the last 24 hours hold the most weight but each day further back holds less and less weight. Sooo if there is high sales for one of the days over the last week, it could hold the item high up the charts. Since January sales for almost every item on the chart will be pretty low, the very high sales of the Switch will keep it high up the charts even being unavailable for days.
Even if the hourly doesn't represent the current sales, the monthly chart will be spot on. There's an algorithm at play here and that's the best answer I can give. It's not Amazon holding the Switch high up the table artificially.

So I thought I would point this out: I did some digging through Amazon's Best Sellers list history and found something interesting: despite what people are saying, the Wii U never at any point was sold out this fast nor managed to top a monthly best seller list. It came close a couple of times, sorta. So no, this exact scenario did not happen with the Wii U. There are other factors such as the short window between preorders being available and launch. But in general, the Switch's level of pre-launch purchasing buzz seems to be a good bit higher than Wii U's was.

Assuming Amazon aren't now using the charts to promote hardware/software, that's good news for Nintendo. For me this uncertainty started when Amazon began pushing lots of products through Prime. This isn't the case here but it does make me less inclined to immediately believe what I'm seeing, something that wasn't the case before when I would confidently (and accurately) announce who the winner of that month would be. It still amazes me that some people on GAF and even on here would question the validity of Amazon, especially when I and others were right every single time. It was mindboggling to me. The irony is that now I'm skeptical because of clear changes last year, some of those people who questioned Amazon are now questioning my motives for being skeptical, even though we actually DO have reason to doubt it at the moment. You can't make this stuff up.

Thankfully, most of those doubters picked up their crow to eat back at home.

You guys are jumping through hoops in order to prove Amazon hasn't lost it and so force me to continue updating. I'm on to you, Swordfish.

Tbh,the switch  looks like a 10x better system then the wiiu, wiiu whus a dumb idea  in every point.

I hope the best for ninty, switch and ps4 could rejuvenate  the Japanese  gaming market.

IMO one big advantage the Switch has vs the Wii U is build quality and design.  I like my Wii U, I really do, but every time I look at it I see a prototype that was polished up so it could be pushed out early and get the drop on MS and Sony.  The Switch, on the other hand, looks like a design they really put a lot of polish into.  It LOOKS like a final retail product with good build quality.  The Wii U just...doesn't.

And the Switch is far better communicated of course and so on.

I have an horrible feeling that rather than deliberate product placing via advertising. (Which surely Microsoft would use for sure, rather than Nintendo.) I have a feeling that they are factoring in people who are clicking "This product is out of stock, click to receive an email when we will have more." People.

They are only imaginiary sales till they are actually sold anyway. But Amazon obviously throws off trends you wont see at other stores, because you don't have to actually pay till it is dispatched, meaning people can just pre order from Amazon as a back up, in case they can't get one at Gamestop or Bestbuy, or whereever. Either way the Switch should do well at launch, but people predicting it selling more than the Wii U's lifetime by the end of the year make my eyes pop out and roll away to keep my brain sane.

This is what I was trying to explain before.

Lol, we need you gribs!!!

But, I think Amazon charts have represented what Amazon sells very well (except for the XB1 Gears bundle glitch). Over the last few months it just hasn't represented the sales in the US very well. We've talked about what these factors were before. We shouldn't get it mixed up saying Amazon charts poor record of prediciting NPD meaning Amazon charts reflecting Amazon sales poorly.
