I disagree 500%. If you approach W3 like its Dark Souls you're gonna get your ass kicked. You're gonna need to adapt cuz W3 combat is floaty and not snappy, nothing really works all the time. Enemy movements in W3 just don't make sense, they're erratic and not in the good way. It's all scripted, if the dev programmed a monster to hit you, you will get hit no matter if you pressed evade or were out of their reach, they're like magnets. The hitboxes are terrible. Dodging doesn't work.
I'm a 7 year Souls veteran but had difficulty with W3's combat becuz how imprecise it is.

Damn, it's almost like we played different games! lol I thought most enemy attacks were pretty well telegraphed, and the hitboxes, while a little bigger than DS's, were very manageable, and a huge improvement from Witcher 2. I had no trouble dodging most enemy attacks with the exception of Ghouls, drowners, and Wraiths(!!!), and I played on the hardest difficulty. You just gotta know which attacks to dodge and which ones to roll away from. Also, you're pretty much screwed if you let a bunch of enemies swarm you, but that's no different from DS.
Of course, I did play W3 before touching DS, so my approach was probably a little different from yours.
