Fun demo, but mostly a disappointment.

Too arcadey and simplistic for a game that was supposed to be a marriage between the exceptional stuff of Nier/Drakengard and Platinum Games.

I was hoping for some badass and only slightly/moderately toned down DMC style combat, and expected the environment to be less bland (60 fps makes it worse in this respect. I know I'm in the minorities, but something about 60 fps takes away from immersion and overall feel of the world. I happen to somewhat agree with the "cinematic feel" argument for 30fps)

NieR Automata attempts to meaningfully combine the best elements of RPG, Action and Bullet Hell Shooters and ends up doing none of them well enough imo. I'm still interested in it but not "NieRly" as much as before.

NEVER not in this game, 60fps is a must have.
I play it like 4 times is so great I want it already! is there going to be a special edition?

Aside from Racers, Fighters, Shmups, and Multiplayer games/modes, my priorities are: Good visuals (Locked 30fps) > 60fps > Resolution.

Unlike PG's games, Drakengard/Nier is a narrative-heavy series with a deep lore. I would rather an increase in visuals/graphics over a minor responsiveness advantage for a more memorable experience. Hell I might opt for a 30fps option even without any visual upgrade!

And yes, there is:

Well I guess it depends on the person, but the fluidity of 60fps on this game looks so good.

Oh my f**ing god *-* I want it even if I have to sell something to get it!

Loved it.

Holy shit this game is good. I think this might be the best Game PG has ever made.

The ability to move around, shoot and slash people up and then do the evade mechanic and swap to the heavy sword and unleash hell is amazing. The 60fps allows all this to happen smoothly.

I love platinum games

REQUIESCAT IN PACE

I Hate REMASTERS

I Hate PLAYSTATION PLUS

I have to admit as soon as I saw the top down view and side on view, it put me off. I thought this would be third person throughout.

The PS5 Exists.

Looking up her skirt should be easier.

Gaaaddaamn the gameplay feels so good.

So I just tried it on "Normal" difficulty (played on Hard before that) and as expected, it does feel and play significantly better with Lock-On..

The devs are confused. You shouldn't increase difficulty by compromising control! They're making the same mistake of Ninja Gaiden. Games can be difficult WITHOUT compromising the player's control. A few examples are Onimusha, Devil May Cry, and Souls series, all of which use Lock-On.

Square/PG needs to take notes from From Software. You can achieve higher difficulty by adding a stamina bar and/or making the time interval shorter for dodging (as it stands, you can dodge most attacks, bar projectiles, by spamming R2) They're ruining this game with stupid design decisions!

I agree they can increase the difficulty without hampering with controls but it doesn't need a stamina meter, not everything need to be Souls-ified. Now that would be a stupid design decision, a boring "me too!" approach. Pls stop suggesting ideas how to make the game worse.

The different perspectives is refreshing and unique, it feels very natural to go from free form 3D to top down view. They also last like a few minutes, this game is 3rd person, not a mash up of different genres.
