^^ A conclusion from what ??? If you don´t use facts you are subjectively predicting... which is like pulling numbers out of thin air....

Gears is going to ousell R2 and it isn't going to be close.
Has anyone looked at the shooter lineup for the 360 this year? By November, owners will be clamoring for a decent shooter and given the 5m+ sales of the original Gears vs. the 1-1.5m non-bundled sales of RFoM, it's not hard to figure out which game will move more units.
Besides, Gears is a flagship title. It will get massive advertising dollars while R2 will get a somewhat quiet release by comparison.
This thread should have been shot down faster than a 360 fanboy popping into the Sony forum and proclaiming "Forza will outsell GT5" last May.

Yeah, uh, I can't quite agree with your 'pulling numbers out of thin air' prediction.

^70% of sales analysts make figures up on the spot. The games have not even been released yet. both around 8 months away. I expect mid to late November.
Gears of War 2 and Resistance 2 being launched on the same day would be hilarious.

Not for Resistance or Insomniac. That's like Universal saying "Hey guys, you know what's a good idea? Let's release our first summer movie up against Indiana Jones and see how it does."

Call of Duty 4 has sold around 5.4 million copies on the XBox 360 and counting. Halo 3 has sold 7.5 million copies and counting. Gears of War 2 has a lot to live up to with XBox 360 owners having a lot of shooters to chose from. XBox 360 owners are oversaturated with shooting games IMO. |
360 FPS games are not quite the same as other games when it comes to sales. Most Halo and GOW owners like to do deathmatches/lan-parties/online-play. When a new version of an FPS online-capable game on the 360 comes out, a significant percentage of the players upgrade. Why? Not primarily to have a new standalone game, but to get the new weapons, maps, etc. available in the sequel.
The same is likely to hold true for GOW 2... I want it not because I think the single-player storyline might be great (or even long)... I want it for the lan-parties I go to after it's out.

Everyone I know will be buying the game simply for co-op. I'll probably end up going through it several times, just like I did the original and Halo 3.
Online co-op is one of the greatest gifts to gamers this generation.

every game that is hyped, i fear has a big chance of epicly phailing. like mgs4. 4 sum reason theres like a 20% chance that it mite fail. and turn out like lair
gears 2 has a bigger chance of phailing though i can just see it.
