As long it can play Wii U games on the go with playable frame rates, i am fine. But still Nintendo could have made the speed clock slightly faster with the same level of the old Nvidia shield streaming consoles.

Those were different times. The mass market is happy to play smartphone games the more their lives get more complex as they get older. The core gamers who truly love gaming want power and have always wanted the best. |
Are you sure? Or at least, are you sure those people (core gamers) make a difference on who sells the most?
The mass market has reacted pretty much the same way over time: they want the coolest/popular console and the one that gets the best games.
Why didn't N64 outsold PS1 3:1? Why did XBOX (GC too) get trounced by an inferior machine (PS2)? Is the difference between PS4 and XB1 that BIG that explains why PS4 is pratically outselling 2:1, without signs of changing anytime soon?
I agree that there are people that want the very best HW, but that is, and always was, the minority.
See what happens when Scorpio gets released and you'll see how the power talk will change to the best games talk - or something like that.

I´m on the same boat. Right now, I don´t think Switch specs will be a huge problem. I´m a lot more concerned about the game lineup.
I found it funny how some people are simply ignoring the huge 3ds audience. Nintendo is aiming to unify its customers into a single device and there are no shortage of highly-successful franchises on the 3ds that will probably get thei next installments on the Switch.
If this little baby gets the next Pokemon, Animal Crossing, Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Splatoon etc. ... and franchises like Monster Hunter, Yokai Watch, Layton etc. I can´t see it begin a complete failure.

Well it does worry me, in the sense that once again it will miss 3rd party support due to technical limitations.

The Switch is obviously not aiming for the same third party support XBox and PlayStation are getting. Nintendo might feel that space is already very crowded.

That title was also developed to the previous-gen consoles. The restraints of the game title because of the old hardware go against your assured optimism with the Switch's capabilities.
It really depends how much Japanese buyers are willing to sacrifice in terms of portability. Sure here in the West it isn't that big of a deal but over there they care about the smallest form with the easiest access possible, hell they were already moving away from the DS family. Nintendo handhelds generally sell better worldwide but the support of the Japanese audience is key.
Did anyone ever think about the fact that third party support from third party companies who worked on the DS is actually EXTREMELY questionable? Part of what made the 3DS appealing to developers is that they could make games with smaller development costs and exploit what Japanese handheld market there was left while also giving the product to the west. I mean...have you ever played Monster Hunter? Generations is just an omage of past levels with some new features. And ya, Monster Hunter will probably come to Switch. And ya, its better for the gamers to get one complete package instead of multiple reworked games. But how will companies that rely on that be treated on a home console, or, at best, a handheld with home console standards.
And why would smaller exclusives like Layton or Pheonix Wright stay with Switch when they dont require that power or fit in that line up. The best thing I can think of - Nintendo heavily advertising smaller titles on eshop. But even that has problems.
Also Monster Hunter for Switch would go on PS4 anyways..guaranteed

The answer is Nintendo. Nintendo cares (a lot). We are their potential customers
