But wait, there's more! Remember there will be an SNES-esque version of the game playing on the lower 3DS screen. That means it could be a fifth version! Or we all get punked and they put the SNES version on the NS.

The 32 bit version is the 3rd version. What 4th version are you talking about?

For some reason I was already including an NS version. I have clearly exhausted my sick self's ability to think for the day. Time to veg out on anime instead.

More importantly, Dragon Quest never gets the budget that Final Fantasy does because it's not as succesful or consistent a franchise in sales.  It's not going to get bleeding edge graphics.

I'd argue that both DQ8 and DQ9 pushing their respective platforms. Not the best looking on the system, but I think Square and Hori definitely make an effort to make a very high quality game, graphics included. PS4 won't be too far away to work off of for Switch, but I think people are underselling it a bit. :-/

Well in my case I have some experience with UE4 so I'm just looking at this and it's not really that taxing relative to the machine with the abilities of the engine in mind.  It's a very pretty game, love the art direction.

Also, people are freaking out over the version cause they are reacting to the (incomplete) spec set that DF discussed.  As this knowledgeable individual poitns out, it's not as cut and dry as it seems.  So yeah, I'm willing to bet it's the PS4 version.  Especially since 1) UE4 is officialy supported on the Switch and 2) the Switch lacks two screens, making the 3DS version impractical to port.

please I want so many new games......

So then, which one is it...? Is it the console version, or the 3DS version?

3ds version looks awesome so hopefully switch gets that. I dont think nintendo fans care about graphics. They would be happy getting the 3ds version

I would not be happy with that. If I wanted the 3DS version, I'll just get it on the 3DS.

It will have it's own version not the PS4 ( or close to PS4) nor 3DS version. Probably close to Monster Hunter graphic or Xenoblade X graphic

I would say it run on Unreal engine 4 but not the PS4 version, to make that claim then the level of Switch need to be on par with PS4. Saying it the same with PS4 is like saying it will have the same graphic fidelity , shader and effect on Switch, but the switch dont have the ability,  It just have minimum requirement to run Unreal Engine. drefinitly it will run on diffrent version then PS4 and 3DS. https://twitter.com/RPGSite/status/809988816521990144?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw

People forget that you have to design around the worst case scenario which is the undocked mode for Switch ...

The Switch is not a home console, it is first and foremost a dockable portable console and developers are obligated to be able to make the game run at it's lowest common denominator ...

I don't know what you are thinking of when you say "version", but it's not the meaning everyone else is using.  It's not going to be the exact same game on the Switch.  Just like it won't be the exact same game if it comes to the Xbone.  Tweaks have to be made to account for the abilities and also the quirks of every system.  However, the Switch will almost certainly not play an upressed 3DS version of the game, it will play an adjusted version of the PS4 release.  UE4 is very flexible.  They're not going to make a *third* game for the Switch.  It's going to be one of the two games shown.

And if you bothered to read the post I linked, you would know that the RANGE of capabilities of the Switch is known, not the exact capabilities of the system.   There's still a considerably wide range of posibilities that will effect the power of the system overall.  We only know a few pieces of the puzzle.

I am agree with u it will not run on the 3DS level but it will not run on PS4 level as well, you wrote earlier it will be the PS4 level, that's why i am correcting your mistakes, and also now that Switch has it range and you now about unreal and the spec to run it. I am just fixing your semantic. It will run on similar to PS4 but not at the same level graphic fideleity that shows on PS4 trailer.

Probably not the same graphical fidelity, thought it will be closer I think than if Final Fantasy VII Remake comes to Switch.  All I was saying is it will be the console Dragon Quest XI for Switch, not the handheld one designed for the 3DS.
