My old 3ds broke while just playing it.

After puking on my GameCube, dropping my GBA down 15 stairs and dropping a Wii on a hardwood floor I have no problem believing this story.

My NDS is pretty broken and the hinge snapped so it doesn't stay open.. I dropped that by accident and the top half came slightly off, but I pushed it back together and it still works :p

That's a very interesting story, with some very personal stuff in it. I'm not surprised at the durability of the 3ds. All Nintendo hardware has knack for being tough. Even once they got into the optical disk scene, they still maintained their perch at the top in terms of build quality. I have never had a piece of Nintendo hardware break on me.

They had to do something with the extra space they had in the 3ds XL, maybe they filled it with ferrocement.

Oh i was like 8. Now my buddies ps3 is a different story

Yeah, pretty new. I changed it about a week ago. That Bobby Lee green-screen one lasted longer than most have in recent times.

I once decided to play Frisbee with my 3ds. Don't ask why.

I accidentally chucked it too hard and sent it flying towards a vase. Simply put, the vase didn't last, but the 3ds somehow survived being thrown super hard, having glass scratch it, being smacked into a wall, and surviving a fall from 5 ft.

There was a lot of scratches (and a slightly weak L trigger button), but besides that it was as good as new.

Considering I bought my 3DS used and it has scratching marks on the touchscreen that look like they were made by knives, I believe int the quality of the machine. Plus, it survived a really bad crash and it was only slightly damaged on one of its corners. Hard plastic indeed.
